DBS Leadership Pathway

Here is a rough draft of the pathway that a seeker could take to become a strategy coorindinator.   

 CONNECT (the seeker explores what it means to follow Jesus)

  1. Reading Bible in group
  2. States what this tells us about God and people
  3. States application from passage
  4. Consistently follows through on their own application
  5. Meeting community needs
  6. Sharing what they learn with people outside the group
  7. Leads sections of the discussion
  8. Baptized

 

BUILD (The facilitator discovers servant leadership)

  1. Is looking for people to start a group
  2. Has started a group
  3. Accesses conversation outlines independently
  4. Involves others in leading group
  5. Can correct group process
  6.  Practises Spiritual Breathing
  7. Knows how and when to share The Four Spiritual Laws
  8. Is seeing people in their group become believers
  9. Confident to baptize and lead the Lord's Supper
  10. Casts vision appropriate for their group
  11. Has intentional loving relationships in and beyond DBS moving towards authentic community
  12. Is encouraging people to lead their own group
  13. Has a prayer network praying for them

TRAIN 

   (The coach encourages facilitators)

  1. Has a mentor and is regularly mentoring 3 people
  2. Regularly asks mentees about the people in their group and the next step for each of them.
  3. Evaluates strengths of their mentees’ groups and takes appropriate action to build on those strengths and correct weaknesses
  4. Regularly builds into the lives of facilitators using CASA coaching and other appropriate methods
  5. Has intentional loving relationships in and beyond mentoring moving towards authentic community
  6. Regularly builds into the lives of other coaches using Iron-on-Iron and other appropriate methods
  7. Understands the Ministries to Movements Arrow and can help leaders design activities for each area.
  8. Can cast vision for their context and inspire
  9. Has a prayer network praying for them

(The trainer gathers people for training in specific skills and insights).

  1. Selects or generates training appropriate to their context
  2. Uses appropriate interactive teaching methods in training
  3. Has intentional loving relationships in and beyond training moving towards authentic community
  4. Can cast vision for their context and inspire
  5. Has a prayer network praying for them

 

SEND ( The strategy coordinator plans and sets direction)

  1. Has a vision for an area or people group
  2. Can articulate that vision
  3. Understands how Jesus built His movement and how Paul spread the movement across his know world.
  4. Can select or generate appropriate content for each aspect of the Ministries to Movements planning arrow.
  5. Knows dangers in their context and can set appropriate boundaries
  6.  Can cast vision for their context and inspire
  7. Has intentional loving relationships in and beyond ministry moving towards authentic community
  8. Is finding people who can start groups
  9. Has a prayer network praying for them
  10. Building a team to reach this target area
  11. Has a team of 5 people committed to reaching a specific group of people

Goal:    

Strategy Coordinators who are able to initiate and lead disciple-making movements in 60 language groups.
