Jesus told us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
When NLTC (New Life Training Curriculum) was first offered at the University of British Columbia they only offered Level 1.
I had finished Level 2 at another university and did NOT see my need to repeat either of these.
The trainer was very smart.
"Bob I would like you to teach Level 1 the next time it is offered."
Those 15 words totally changed my attitude. I was hanging on every word of the trainer, taking careful notes not only of the main points, but also of illustrations I could use when I taught.
Dave helped bring the New Life Training Curriculum (NLTC) to Australia.
As we sought to adapt it to the Australian audience Dave made it clear that center on what the Bible says.
That sounds obvious, but many times discplemakers will give a Bible reference and assume that everyone knows what that verse says. That is a dangerous assumption.
I thought you might want to read what Bill Hodgson said about disciplemaking.
Bill started the youth ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ in Australia, was our National Director, and is now an international leader with Global Church Movements.
Bill has written several training programs including Shift m2M, which is designed to help church leaders move from running ministries to leading movements.
I asked people who had downloaded materials from our website "what makes a great disciplemaker?"
Ishmael in Kenya, teaches the New Life Training Curriculum (NLTC) and downloaded the manual from our website. I think you downloaded materials from here as well. Ishmael has found this material has a great impact on his students.
