Corona Virus

I don't know how the people in your community are handling the news of the Corona Virus.

In my community I met a man last week who didn't want to shake my hand because he didn't want to risk catching the disease.

I understand why many people are afraid. People are dying from this disease.

I also see this as an opportunity for us to have meaningful conversations with our friends.  Moving beyond the topics that normally fill our interaction.

I made this image so that you and your friends can have a conversation about a short Bible passage.  Print them out, store them on your phone or share them over social media.  But make sure you engage in conversation with the people you share these with. You want to be able to share how this poem from the Bible makes a difference in your life.

You will want to do some preparation before showing this image to your friends.

I suggest watching this 2 minute video to stimulate your thinking.

How do you want to introduce the image?

  • I read an interesting quote today.
  • There is something on my phone I want to show you.

Then think about the difference that knowing the God is always with you makes. Here are some sentence starters:

  • There was a time when I was really afraid...... and then I realised.....................
  • Knowing that God is always with me was so helpful when I .....................
  • When things seem to be going wrong I remind myself ..................
  • One of the biggest struggles I've faced is .........................

Then visit everyperson.com and think about which articles would be best for your friends to read.

Then start praying for your friends and opportunities to have spiritual conversations.  I'd be delighted to pray with and for you. Let me know how.

Ask God for direction and boldness the next time you see a friend. Maybe it's time for a spiritual conversation that will help you friend face their fears in a new way.  And maybe they will be open to reading more of the Bible with you.

I am looking forward to seeing how God will use even the terribleness of the Corona Virus for good.
