what Paul says about disciplemaking

Paul is training people to begin and lead Disciplemaking Movements in my home state (Oregon, USA).

I suggest you watch his podcast:  Visioneering, Training, Coaching and Mentoring - Developing Leaders Within Disciple Making Movements.  It is a bargain at $5.

One of the things Paul emphacises is the importance of knowing your audience.  Why have people come to your training session?  Is it because they wanted to or someone pressured or required them to come.  This will make a big difference in their attitude and how you need to approach the training time.

Trust me.  I've taught at church retreats where the pastor wants everyone to know about "Friendship Evangelism". It seemed to me that most of the people were there for the fellowship and outdoor activities.

Here are some of the questions I wish I had asked before I came:

  • Why were these people invited to the training?
  • How were they invited?
  • What were they told about you and your organization?
  • What is their self-perceived level of experience on your topic?
  • What is their actual level of experience on your topic?
  • What were they promised?
  • How does their culture train people?

There is a lot more gold in the webinar, but you will need to watch or listen to it yourself to get it.

I'd love to hear what part of the webinar impacted you the most.

Till next time,
