Do you know anyone who could help meet the needs of a missionary who has just arrived in Melbourne from Zimbabwe?
Joakim will be playing a vital role in training recent migrants from Africa and other continents how to connect their friends to Jesus and other believers.
We see the great need to reach the new migrant populations in their heart language and with their familiar customs.
Moving overseas is tough for any family but imagine the impact if we can bring the help and hope of Jesus! And it is not just here but also helping those in their home countries also begin a relationship with Jesus.
This is where we need your help! We have a ministry leader named Joakim who has come over from Zimbabwe to prepare to move his family over and take leadership of this part of the ministry. With it being early stages, there are three significant ways you can help:
- Housing a Joakim for a few weeks/months:
If you have a spare room, a granny flat or know of something equivalent where a missionary leader from Africa could live for a few weeks/months, we would be very grateful for you getting in touch.
- Lend a car:
If you have a car that you’d be open to lending to Joakim, that would also be very helpful. He has an internationals driver’s license.
- Opportunities to share with groups what they are planning to do:
Joakim is looking to build contacts and connections with local churches and communities who would share a heart with reaching the migrant community of Australia. Perhaps it’s your small group Bible Study, a men’s/women’s group at church or a dinner that you’re willing to host. If you or people you’re connected with might be interested in learning more or being involved financially or in practical ministry, we’d love to connect you to him.
Thank you for the part you play in creating a Jesus-centred community within reach of every Australian!
