Go Month Email

I discovered something last week

Last week I discovered something that caught me by surprise: May is “Go Month”!

Never heard of it? I hadn’t either — and I’m part of one of the 100+ ministries involved!

Go Month is part of the Go Movement, a global initiative uniting Christians to focus on prayer and evangelism during the month of May. We chose May because it usually includes Pentecost Sunday — the day the early church received the Holy Spirit and boldly began to share the Gospel.

I downloaded their 21-day prayer guide last week and was impressed by its simplicity and focus. The challenge is clear:

Pray for 21 days. Then, on the last Saturday of May — GO Day — share the Gospel with at least one person.

Last year, they estimate that over 1 billion people heard the Gospel during Go Month. That’s astounding. But here's the thing:  You don’t need to wait for GO Day.

Some people are sharing with one person a day, others with one person a week. The point is to make space this month to intentionally talk with others about Jesus.

So what could Go Month look like for you?

At our church, we’re hosting a fun day — I’ll be dressed as a clown and using simple tools to start conversations about Jesus.

You might take a different approach.

For example, you could ask a friend:

“I’m looking for someone to read the Bible with me. Would you be interested?”

Or use a simple Gospel presentation like The Four, or engage in conversations through stories using a relational approach.

I’ve gathered a few ideas and resources that might inspire you — all in one place:

Let’s dream big.

What if more than a billion people heard the Gospel this May?

What if some of your friends or your neighbors took a step toward Jesus — just because you prayed and opened a conversation?

Let’s pray. Let’s go. Let’s see what God will do.
