Today is Deepavali -- the Hindu festival of lights.

This creates a natural bridge to talk about Jesus being the light of the world.

Here are two resources to help you:

• A Deepavali Card (in English or Hindi or bi-lingual). 
  
  This card  says that the Deepavali lamps can remind us of Lord Shri Jesus Christ's victory over the darkness of sin that resides in all of us. His sinless life and sacrificial death has the power to blot out the darkness of sin from us.
  
  Regarding his getting up alive again after death, Lord Shri Jesus Christ said, "I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me will live, even though he dies".
  
  
• An email series going through the Gospel of Matthew called "Finding a Guru Worth Following". 
  
  This series starts off with the statement  that if we are to make any real progress in our spiritual life, we know we need a guru, a spiritual master.  We need someone to show us the way, to challenge and correct and guide and help us. We can only progress as far spiritually as our guru can take us.
  
  God knew this too. This is why He sent us Lord Jesus.  I would like to invite you to join me in a 50 day study of the Gospel of Matthew  to see what Jesus taught His first disciples.
