What do these two pictures have in common?
They are both innovations. One has already changed the world, the other is just starting this process.
I recently read how Fredrick Tutor sold the idea of ice on demand to the world. In the 1840’s he started cutting ice out of a lake in America and shipping it to distance ports — as far away as India. Before his success, he had major technical problems to solve: how to harvest, store and distribute the ice. He also needed to create a market among people who had never seen ice. He succeeded so well that for several decades ice was America’s second largest export item, measured by weight.
Right now Power to Change (the International Cru Network) is developing a new approach to help Christians connect their friends to Jesus. It’s called the MyFriends Lifestyle. This involves:
- praying for our friends
- meeting their practical needs
- sharing what God is doing in our life
- reading and discussing key Bible passages together
We want to introduce the MyFriends Lifestyle to people in your community. Can you help?
We are looking for people who are willing to take a bold step of faith and try something new. People who want to help connect their friends to Jesus. Coaching will be provided to help these people be successful in living out the MyFriends Lifestyle in their social settings.
