Helping new Christians grow - no extra language

Helping new Christians grow

|first_name|,

I hope you have had a good month telling people about Jesus.

One of the problems I face in helping new Christians grow is finding a good Bible study in their heart language which will help them learn the basics. It is particularly hard in my neighbourhood because my neighbours speak 30 different languages. Where do I turn for help?

I thought maybe you could help me.  I know you have an interest in reaching people who read |lang1|. That's why you came to my website and downloaded some of evangelistic materials.

We asked a team on experienced missionaries to write six Bible studies that would give new believers a good foundation. They came up with something we call FirstSteps.

I like FirstSteps because it is holistic. Members are encouraged to care for one another, meet needs in their community, and share with others what they are learning. The studies are easy to lead and focus on only a few Bible passages in each lesson.  Members are asked each week how they plan to put into practise what they have just learnt. The translation load is small: only 2,600 words to translate. The rest is Bible text.

Here is where you come in.  Do you think you could find someone to translate part of this study into |lang1|?

I don't have any money to pay translators, but I will make this translation freely available on the internet (and on the FirstSteps app) so that people around the world can use it.

Your translator will be part of a world changing event.

On March 26 staff from 50 countries will be meeting in Kenya to discuss strategies and resources for reaching university students and helping them grow in their faith.

One of the resources they will be looking at is the FirstSteps app.  Our global leadership team would like to see it be used globally. They want us to show a useable first draft with at least five languages by March 26.

My goal is  more ambitious. I want to see it in 90+ languages.

You can check out what is needed by visiting this page.

Maybe you also know someone who could help with the translation into one of our other languages too.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email.

And yes, if you only work with English-speakers, the app is ready for your use.  Just click on one of the links above.

I am looking forward to what God will do through our teamwork.
