The easiest way to share the Gospel?

The easiest way to share the Gospel?

I think one of the easiest ways to share the Gospel is to show somone a short video on your phone.

I see people doing this all the time.  Videos of their children, their vacation, a sports event, or the latest news.  For some people it is as natural as breathing.

For an introvert like me, it is a little stretch.  But if I am excited about the video, I can't wait to share it.

Before COVID I was riding into town on the train when two high school students sat down facing me.  It was another 20 minutes to the city, so I asked if I could get their opinion of a short video.

I sometimes use the Jesus Film Project App which has some great videos for starting a conversation.  My favorities: B Me, Delight, Jangled and Ctrl Z.  You can make a playlist so you can find the video quickly.  Beneath each video are questions to help get a discussion started.   Look at the image below. What could be easier?

When you are ready to move on to a Jesus Conversation, I recommend heading over to mylanguage.net.au.  Here you will find that the JESUS film has been broken down into 63 segments.  With more than 1,900 languages, you are likely to find the heart language of the person you want to share the video with.

There are five questions below each video segment. Read these and see what God does.

  • What does this tell you about God?
  • What does this tell you about Jesus?
  • What does this tell you about people?
  • If this is true, what difference would it make in your life?
  • Who are five people who you can share your discoveries with?

My wife and I were visiting a Hindu friend of ours around Easter time.  Chris asked Vasuki* if she knew much about Good Friday.  Then Chris followed up with, "Could I show you a short video clip of the highlights?"  Vasuki* was so facinated by the story that she watched 8 of the episodes, one after the other.

Let's see what opportunities God opens up for us this week.  I'm going over the the local university to help cook dinner for 100 international students tonight.  Maybe I can share a video clip there.

Let's pray:

"Lord Jesus, thank you for the many people you bring across our path each week.  I pray that you would keep us sensitive to when and how you want us to tell people about you.  Let us move gracefully from casual to meaningful to spiritual conversations.  Thank you for the many people who have put together film clips that we can share.  Continue to raise up creative people who can communicate in powerful ways to our culture.  We will give you the praise and the glory.  Amen"
