Let’s Explore a New Way to Reach More People

You’ve been following my journey through these weekly emails, where I’ve shared stories, lessons, and ideas for connecting with others to share the hope we have in Jesus. 

Today, I want to invite you to join me in taking the next step: an experiment to explore how we can better equip people to do this in diverse, multi-lingual contexts.

Did you know that there are over 50 languages spoken in the suburb of Sydney where I live? That diversity is both a blessing and a challenge. While many people are spiritually curious, language barriers can prevent us from reaching every people group with the Gospel.

I believe God is calling us to develop ways to train and equip Christians that are simple, reproducible, and easily translated into many languages.  Ways that you can use in your city as well.

This experiment draws on a lifestyle I’ve been practicing—one that involves intentional prayer, care, and sharing with the people in my life. While I’ve lived it and written about it in these emails, I haven’t called it by name. We call it the MyFriends Lifestyle. It’s not a program or a formula but a way of living out our faith so that others naturally encounter Jesus through us.

What’s the Experiment?

I’m inviting a small group of people to join me in 9 weekly online sessions to:

  • Learn and practice tools for connecting with people and creating groups where non-Christians read and discuss the Bible.
  • Explore how these tools can be adapted for use in different cultural and linguistic contexts.
  • Pray together for a movement of discipleship that spans communities, cultures, and languages.

Dates & Times: Weekly meetings

USA:  January 21 through February 26 resuming March 19 to April 9 ( 6:30 Los Angeles Time)

Other Locations: I will help you figure out the day and time for meetings.

Format: Interactive, online sessions.

Cost:  Free

Each week, we’ll reflect on Scripture, practice simple techniques like the Daisy Chain to map our connections, and discover how God can work through us to share His love with others.

Why This Matters

If we want to reach the world—starting with the people in our neighborhoods—we need tools that can cross language barriers. This experiment is a step toward that vision, and I’d love for you to be part of shaping it.
