For the past few months I have been working on something designed especially for our Muslim friends.
It is a simple app with 60 short daily readings that introduce the message of the prophets and gradually help a reader understand the good news of Jesus (Isa). Each reading takes about five minutes and includes a question to reflect on.
My hope was to have it ready before Ramadan began on February 18. Unfortunately I ran into some technical problems and only finished the project yesterday.
The recent news from the Middle East has made everything feel even more complicated. When events like this happen it can make conversations about faith feel harder. Some Muslim friends may feel defensive. Others may actually become more open to spiritual questions. It is not always easy to know how people will respond.
Yesterday I was reminded again that God often works in ways we do not expect. I spoke with a man from South Sudan who told me that the conflict in his own country was the very thing God used to bring him to Jesus. Before the war he was deeply involved in traditional religion and witchcraft. During the turmoil he encountered the message of Christ. Today he serves as a pastor.
That conversation reminded me that the timing of God is often different from ours.
If you have Muslim friends, this season is an opportunity to listen carefully and follow the Lord's leading. A helpful place to begin is with what we share in common. Both Muslims and Christians honour the prophets: Adam, Noah, Abraham, David, and Jesus.
Sometimes a conversation might sound something like this:
- How have recent events affected your family?
- How do you find comfort or hope in situations like this?
- One thing that I have found helpful is paying attention to what God has said through His prophets.
- Would you be interested in spending five minutes a day doing that and seeing if it helps you the way it helps me?
Below is the image that I now keep stored on the home screen of my phone. When a conversation naturally opens and someone shows interest, they can simply scan the code and download the app onto their phone.

Many Christians spend ten or fifteen minutes each day reading Scripture and praying. This series invites Muslim friends to take the same kind of daily journey through the stories of the prophets and the Word (Jesus).
Let us see what God chooses to do through it.
Please continue to pray that Muslims around the world will be open to discovering who Jesus truly is.
