When should you start talking about Jesus?

When should you start talking about Jesus?

Last week, my wife and I visited a Sri Lankan friend's apartment to invite their two children, Emily* and Jack*, to a church holiday club. Emily is in Year 3 and Jack is in Kindergarten.

Their family attends church regularly, so their mother, Sarah*, was eager that they attend.

Then, Chris asked Emily which of her friends might want to join her. Emily immediately thought of her Chinese friend Sophie*, whose family doesn't yet follow Jesus. She called Sophie, found out she was home, and showed us the way to her apartment. Emily excitedly told Sophie about the church holiday club and begged her mom to let her go. Chris and I shared more details, mentioning there would be games, crafts, and a Bible story. We also offered to drive Sophie to the church holiday club.

As we left Sophie's apartment, Jack begged  us to invite his best friend, Noah*. So, we walked over to his apartment and repeated the same routine. Noah is Indonesian.

I found it incredible that even a Kindergarten student could be involved in cross-cultural missions (AI picture below).

But then, a friend shared a story about his son, who was just three years old at the time. They were at a restaurant in Turkey when his son took two kebab sticks, placed them at right angles, and announced to everyone in the restaurant, "Jesus died on the cross."

Yes, it's not the complete message, but it's a start. And once you begin, you might be amazed at what God does in and through you.

Let's pray:

"Lord Jesus, thank you for the wonderful news of the Gospel. Thank you that you have saved us and are preparing a home for us in heaven. Lord, I want to thank you for the example of these three children, who shared the message the best way they knew how. Embolden me to do the same. Amen."

Have a great week sharing what you know about Jesus.
