Easter

Something beautiful happened

Something beautiful happened when we were Japan earlier this month.

On my wife's birthday, we stayed overnight with a Japanese friend and her family. After a wonderful meal, they surprised Chris with a big birthday cake. We laughed, ate well, and played a game I’d brought—SushiGo—which everyone loved. It was a lovely, relaxed family evening.

But we didn’t want it to be just a nice evening.

Before we left the table, we gave them a card with a QR code linking to a short video about the Easter story.

And that is where something special happened—four phones came out. Four family members, around the table, intently watching the Easter Story in Japanese on their phones. Three of them had never heard the Easter story before. They were amazed.

All it took was a card with a QR code.

How much do your neighbours know about Easter? Have they heard the story? Have they come to know the Saviour?

The card is so easy to share:  "Here is a link to a three minute clip of a video I though you would enjoy watching.  If you like the clip you can watch the full movie for free".

People can watch the Easter Story in over 1,000 languages.

If you're in the USA, you can order Easter cards in packs of 100 to equip people in your church .

Since I’m in Australia, I had mine printed through VistaPrint using this artwork.

Or just print the QR code yourself, tape it to the back of your phone, and let your friends scan it when the moment feels right.

Or post on your social media, encouraging people to visit: your.nextstep.is/easter-en

Be creative.  Have fun telling people the good news.

Our world is aching right now. People are desperate for hope—let's make sure they know the true significance of Easter.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, Thank you for the hope you offer. Our world is clearly broken, and while we’ve tried many ways to fix things, real healing only comes when people are in right relationship with you. Show us how to share that hope with the hurting people around us. Amen.
