Build a team

Build a teamJesus started his ministry by calling a team and giving them a specific vision: “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” Before we launch into ministry, we should carefully follow Jesus’ example.

Start with a small team : 4 to 6 people is ideal.

Where will you find these people?    Think about your friends, co-workers and family.  Who is God leading you to approach?  Who could be on a team with you.

Share your initial vision with them:  can we work together to make an impact in our community?

  • Take a look at the resources at Accelerate Training.  I created an account so I could show their training video clips to my team members.

Meet regularly to share what God is teaching you.

When our team gets together we follow the CASA outline:

C - Caring for one another (what is going on in their lives and also what is going on in the lives of the people in their groups)

A - Accountability (how did they apply what we talked about last time)

S - Select a topic (We will start with a Discovery Bible Study or a discussion on a section of Knowing Him.  I think it is important for all our leaders to see how Jesus went about building His movement and we have had great times of sharing what we are observing in Knowing Him.  Next we will focus on an aspect of our ministry that we want see improve)

A - Application and Assignments (How are people going to apply what they learned from the Bible?  What do they need to do before the next meeting.

How is your team doing?

I am not sure who to invite to be part of our team

I know who to ask, but I have not asked them yet
